"This section is the hardest for me to do.  I'm a Christian and by all means Dungeons & Dragons is frowned upon.  But I was a D&D player long before I was a Christian and even then I never got to involved with the religious aspect of D&D world.  I have been uncomfortable with pretending to honor any god (make believe or real).  I liked the fact that in the Dungeons & Dragons world they never truly used God's and Deities... but used immortals instead.

Because this internet game is more like the AD&D game system... I have to consider how clerics (and similar) characters will be affected.  I do not intend to have them worshiping gods or deities... then what... I leave it up to the players.  Players using characters that need "gods, deities, or immortals" will have to design or make up their own "set of rules" (which their characters honor and will follow).  This may seem phony or stupid... BUT I WILL NOT FORCE CHARACTERS TO FOLLOW MY SYSTEM OF RELIGIOUS FIGURES.  I wouldn't play by someone else's design, so I can't expect others too.

This means that the religious aspect in this world is very free to interpretation.  In game play I will play along the necessary "entertaining" actions for role play purposes... but won't dwell on them.  I believe in GOOD vs. EVIL and that's where everything will trickle down too.  I will look upon any worshiper as either good or bad... not which is better or superior.  This leaves the players more freedom to create their characters.

When designing your character write up a brief description of the entity your character is worshipping... more the aspects, values and beliefs then actual details... like what your character believes and is expected to live up to.  I will make amends if necessary and we can make amends during the game.

Word of caution... I WILL NOT PUT UP WITH DEVIL WORSHIPPING!!!  Any characters too evil will quickly find themselves six feet under... I will allow mean players or nasty S.O.B.'s, but not truly evil characters.  Not happy with that... go find another game to play.  I don't want all goody good characters... just don't get too involved with the actions... role play and have fun.

I may have to reconsider this whole aspect and maybe redesign a system that deals with religion.  I'd rather leave it in the player's hands... it's up to them.  I trust they will create fair and entertaining value system for their characters.  I look forward to seeing the results.  I hope you all understand and respect my wishes." - GM
