centuries ago... maybe a few millenniums... a very mystic order of Monks
happened to make their home in Thunder Canyon. No one really knows
where... just that every once in awhile a Monk is encountered and strange
stories arise. Great feats of power and strength fill many tavern
stories... even the story tellers have tales to tell... all being mysterious
and intriguing.
What
does hold true in all the tales is that the Monks are very wise and always
tend to overcome some great evil and then disappear. Of course there
are tales when they did no succeed or maybe fell to the greater evil power...
but each time the Monks were involved.... great things happened.
It
is for this reason that they are looked upon with great awe and respect.
They have total freedom to travel any part of Thunder Canyon... it is rumored
that even the chaotic forces bend to there will... they are listened to
and obeyed more times then not. To oppose a Monk of the Flaming Dragon
is to pick the side of evil... many have been killed for simply turning
a Monk's request away.
It's
said that, 'Those that know the Monks are greatly gifted, those that oppose
the Monks are men without lives.' In addition, 'Any that encounter
a Monk can expect their lives to be forever changed." And finally,
'If you crap in the woods, know that the Monks will not step in it.' "
