| "Thunder
Canyon is an AD&D PBeM (play by e-mail) game set in and around the
lands of Couver Island on the continent of Arctica, and follows the exploits
of a brave and determined band of heroes as they explore a world ruled
by magic and the sword."
RULES
for playing in Thunder Canyon...
Acceptance
into the game indicates a player's agreement to these rules.
-
All turns
should be sent to the Game Master from relevant player characters. The
GM will forward e-mails to the Lurkers. This includes any and all
interaction between characters... private messages between characters (when
plotting, whispering, etc.) should be sent to the Game Master.
-
The subject
of the e-mail should be set as follows - "Character: Turn Title", (e.g.
Authur: Pulls Sword From The Stone). This will make things easier to follow
for all concerned and aid collation of replies while running the game.
This will be a strictly enforced policy and those who repeatedly ignore
it do so at their own peril.
-
Do not
write your replies within other peoples messages as this can become confusing
when the same message, sightly modified, is passed around. Always write
a new response unless absolutely necessary. Again this is to make things
easier to follow and help monitoring of the game.
-
Always
write in character, but if players want to make an 'out of character' comment,
then prefix it with 'OOC:' to make things clear.
-
Do not
use rude or insulting language, except in respect to role playing in the
game (i.e. insulting a monster, enemy, etc.). This could be grounds
for dismissal from the game.
-
If at
anytime a player has a grievance with the way the game is progressing,
it's mechanics or another player, etc... then the matter should be discussed
with the GM. The GM is open to discussion on all issues in a frank
and constructive manner. Abuse of the GM or another player in any
way will not be tolerated and will be grounds for dismissal from the game.
-
If a player
is unable to send turns in for a extended time (i.e. they are away on holiday,
etc.) then the Game Master (or even an eager Lurker if necessary) can take
over the player's character until they return. This should be decided
prior to the player leaving the game... keep it in mind and notify the
GM accordlingly.
-
Any player
who does not submit a turn for a period of four weeks without prior arrangement
will be dismissed from the game and replaced. Even if you have nothing
to say or do... just let the GM know that you are at least following the
game.
-
Anyone
who drops out of the game or is dismissed will leave an opening which can
be filled by any willing Lurker. The Lurker will be chosen according to
next best character submission. They can either continue to use the
vacant player's character (if the player is willing for game continuity)
or the Lurker's own.
-
All game
play rules will be based upon a the AD&D 2nd Edition with all optional
rules available to use if desired. A good idea is to use the CD-Rom
Core Rules if possible... otherwise any 2nd Edition rule books are accepted.
Please note, any disputes or conflicting rules should be clarified
with the GM.
-
MOST
IMPORTANT RULE - The Game Master's decision is final in any ruling.
-
Any questions?
Please direct them to the Game
Master.
